What's Happening at the Stanley Library?

Summer Reading Program - "Free To Read" was Stanley's 2009 Summer Reading Program. All students were invited to participate in a summer reading program by setting a personal reading goal, although the minimum requirement was 4 books at their appropriate reading level. The students celebrated at a grade level party in September where they enjoyed lunch and a prize raffle. Thank you to the community and the parent volunteers for their generous donations and ongoing support!
One Book One School!
- We are excited to continue a new program that we started last summer. Students who read Peak by Roland Smith in addition to the minimum of 4 books for the summer reading program, were invited to a special event in October where we enjoyed pizza, a fabulous talk from a local mountain climber and each Peak reader received a Wildcats carabiner. Stay tuned for next year’s book!
Bargain Book Sale
- Bring your used books that are middle school appropriate and put them in the marked container in the library. Books will be sold for 50 cents in the front of the GYM on the first Friday of every month. Clean out your bookshelves and find a deal! All proceeds support the Summer Reading Program.
Book Clubs
- Book clubs are underway - join anytime! They meet monthly in the library during lunch. Stop by the library for more information!
October Book Fair Event
- The fall book fair took place Oct. 26-29, 2009 at the library. The Lafayette Book Store, the book fair committee and our dedicated volunteers hosted a wonderful event. Thank you for all your support in keeping literature an important part of our students' lives.
