Superintendent Search

January 5, 2018

Dear Lafayette Families and Community Members,

It is with very mixed emotions that I share with you that after 38 wonderful years in education, I have made the decision to retire at the end of August.

There aren't words to convey how much I have loved the twelve years I have spent working in this very special District. It has been an incredible, amazing journey with so many special memories that I will treasure forever. To be able to serve the community in which I live and to get to have the opportunity to connect with so many of you has been one of the greatest privileges of my career.

I appreciate that the Governing Board will be going through a formal search process to find the next Superintendent.

We have many months left together, so please know that I will make the most of every minute of this time and will do everything possible to insure a very smooth, seamless transition.

If you have any questions and/or you would like to talk further, I hope you won't hesitate to contact me.

With such deep appreciation,

Rachel Zinn, Superintendent

Community Engagement

As part of the search for the next Superintendent of the Lafayette School District, the Governing Board seeks input from students, staff, families, and residents to identify key characteristics desired in the new superintendent by the community. Barbara Young and Diane Siri of Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, the executive search firm selected to assist in the search, will be conducting a series of interviews, focus group meetings, and convening a Community Forum on Wednesday, March 14th at 6:30 p.m. in the Stanley Middle School Library, 3455 School Street, Lafayette. Additionally, an online survey to gather information from the community is open here until March 22nd

The Governing Board welcomes your input and hopes you will participate in the survey and attend the Community Forum on March 14th. HYA will present a comprehensive Leadership Profile report to the Board at a special meeting on March 28th at 5pm. The community is encouraged to attend.
