Jean Follmer (Term ends December, 2016)--Board Clerk
Jean Follmer was elected to the Governing Board in November, 2012 and is currently serving as Clerk of the Board.
A native Chicagoan, Jean fled winter for sunny California in 1993. After marrying Chad in San Francisco in 1997, the couple spent 10 years in the South before settling in Lafayette in 2007. Jean has two children, and both are currently students in the Lafayette School District. Prior to becoming a proud stay-at-home-mother, Jean worked as a Property Casualty Commercial Insurance Broker for public sector accounts at Aon Risk Services and Arthur J. Gallagher. She later worked as an education reporter for the Lamorinda Weekly from 2007-11.
Her current Board assignments are the LPIE (Lafayette Partners in Education), Las Trampas Creek Council PTA Legislative Committee, Negotiations Committee, RAPPORT, Technology, and Task Force on Facilities/Growth Ad Hoc Committee. She is also Board liaison to Lafayette Elementary School.
Teresa Gerringer (Term ends December, 2018)
Teresa has served on the Lafayette School District Governing Board since 2000. During that time, Teresa has served three terms as Board President, and has served on all of the Board committees.
As an education advocate and community leader, her current involvement includes California School Boards Association as a Region 7 Delegate, CSBA 2013 Nominating Committee Member, Contra Costa County School Boards Association Vice-President-Programs, Lafayette Community Foundation Board Vice-Chair-Fundraising, and Lafayette Library Learning Center Foundation Governance Committee Member.
Past volunteer activities include: Past President, Lafayette Community Foundation; Co-Chair, Yes on E and J Parcel Tax Campaign Committees; Member, CSBA Legislation Committee Member; Advisor, Lafayette Chamber of Commerce; Trustee, Lafayette Library & Learning Center; Co-Chair, Lafayette Library & Learning Center Community Campaign; Past President, Las Trampas Creek Council of PTAs; Past Chair, Las Trampas Council of PTAs Legislation Committee; Past President, Lafayette RAPPORT; Past President, Springhill PFC; and a variety of Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE, formerly LASF) roles.
Teresa is employed as a political strategist and community organizer with an East Bay consulting firm, working with schools, public agencies, and healthcare districts to pass revenue measures. Her past employment includes, Education Consultant with clients such as WestEd; Vice President, Security Pacific Venture Capital, and computer consultant/instructor. She received her MBA from Pepperdine University, and her B.S.-Public Administration from Indiana University. She has been a resident of Lafayette since 1995 with husband Michael and two daughters, who attended public schools in Lafayette.
David Gerson (Term ends December, 2018)--Board President
David Gerson joined the Board on December 3, 2010 and is the current Board President.
David and wife Stacii moved to Lafayette in 1997 and have twin daughters who attended Springhill Elementary, Stanley Middle School and are now at Acalanes High School.
Nancy Wallace (Term ends December, 2016)
Nancy was elected to the Governing Board in November, 2012.
Nancy has been an active volunteer in our community for the past 11 years. She served on the Springhill Elementary School Parent Faculty Club from 2007 – 2009—first as Secretary and then as Vice-President of Fundraising. She is the founder of SEED (Special Education Foundation), and served as its president from 2008 – 2012. She co-chaired the 2009 Springhill Parent Party and Auction.
She also served as a member of the Director of Student Services' Parent Advisory Committee for five years. Nancy has been a member of the District Grant Writing Committee, Lafayette Rapport, the LASF (now LPIE) Auction Committee, and a volunteer on various parcel tax campaigns. She is also the Girl Scout school organizer for Springhill Elementary School, and has served as leader in multiple Girl Scout troops at Springhill and Stanley Middle School.
Before leaving her practice at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene and MacRae to help care for her children, Nancy practiced law for eleven years, and also worked in the actuarial field for several years. She received her J.D. from the University of Notre Dame, and her B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Colgate University.
Her current Board assignments include: Board liaison to Burton Valley Elementary School, LPIE (Lafayette Partners in Education), Policy Review/Revisions, School Transportation/Bus JPA, Green Liaison, and the Joint City-School District Traffic & Safety Ad Hoc Committee.
Nancy has lived in Lafayette since 2000. She is married to Robert Ishii, and they have three children.
Suzy Pak (Term ends December, 2018)
Suzy has a background of more than 21 years in asset management and works for ClearBridge Investments in San Francisco. Suzy is a native Californian and the product of California public schools. She has a BA in Economics from UC Santa Cruz and an MBA from San Jose State University.
Suzy is an active community volunteer with service on the boards of the Springhill Elementary Parent Faculty Club, the Lafayette Library and Learning Center Foundation, the Contra Costa Child Abuse Prevention Council, the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center, the Junior League of San Francisco, Lafayette for Education, and Educate Our State. She served as the Treasurer for the Measure B parcel tax campaign in 2011 and 2014.
Her current Board assignments include Curriculum Council Committee, District Wellness Council, Las Trampas Creek Council PTA Legislative Committee, Communications, and Green Liaison. She also will serve on the Bond Revenue Ad Hoc Committee. She is also Board liaison to Stanley Middle School.
She and her husband, Mark Gundacker, moved to Lafayette in 2001, where they reside with their two daughters who have been enrolled in the Lafayette School District since kindergarten.
