Jean Follmer was elected to the Governing Board in November, 2012, and currently serves as Board President.


Jean has a long history of volunteering for both community and educational organizations. She is currently the Chair of The Children’s PAC and also serves as Secretary for the Orinda Aquatics swim team board.  She was on the Executive Board of the Springhill Parent Faculty Club for three years, including President in 2010-11. Jean is a founding member of Lafayette for Education and a past member of the LPIE, Lafayette Community Foundation, Lafayette Swim Conference and Joyful Beginnings Preschool boards.


A native Chicagoan, Jean fled winter for sunny California in the early 1990s. Jean is married to husband, Chad, and they have two children who have been educated in the Lafayette School District. Prior to leaving the workforce to be home with her children, Jean worked as a Property Casualty Commercial Insurance Broker on public sector pools. She later worked as an education reporter for the Lamorinda Weekly from 2007-11.


Her current Board assignments are: Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE), Negotiations, Policy Review/Revisions, RAPPORT, and Community Liaison and is currently Board liaison to Stanley Middle School.

Teresa has served on the Lafayette School District Governing Board since 2000.  During that time, Teresa has served three terms as Board President, and has served on all of the Board committees.  


Current Board assignments are: Curriculum Council Committee, Las Trampas Creek Council PTA,  and Communications. She also serves on the Joint City-School District Traffic & Safety Ad Hoc Committee as well as the Board liaison to Happy Valley Elementary.


As an education advocate and community leader, Teresa's current service includes Contra Costa County School Boards Association Vice-President-Programs, Lafayette Community Foundation Board Vice-Chair-Fundraising.


Previous Board service includes: Region 7 Delegate, California School Boards Association; Member, CSBA Legislation Committee; Advisor, CA State PTA Board of Managers; Co-Chair, Yes on E and J Parcel Tax Campaign Committees; Past President, Lafayette Community Foundation; Advisor, Lafayette Chamber of Commerce; Trustee, Lafayette Library & Learning Center; Co-Chair, Lafayette Library & Learning Center Community Campaign; Past President, Las Trampas Creek Council of PTAs; Past Chair, Las Trampas Council of PTAs Legislation Committee; Past President, Lafayette RAPPORT; Past President, Springhill PFC; and Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE, formerly LASF).


Teresa currently works for the California State Senate. Her past employment includes political strategist and community organizer; education consultant with clients such as WestEd; Vice President, Security Pacific Venture Capital, and computer consultant/instructor. She received her MBA from Pepperdine University,and her B.S.-Public Administration from Indiana University. She has been a resident of Lafayette since 1995 with husband Michael and two daughters, who benefitted from our local public schools.

David Gerson (Term ends December, 2018)

David served as treasurer on the executive board of Springhill Elementary Parent Faculty Club 2008 through 2010 and has been an active parent volunteer at Springhill. David also is a community volunteer and is the Executive Director of Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa, a local non-profit that provides safety net food services to low income county residents. Previously he practiced tax law in Silicon Valley for over 20 years and retired from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in 2009.


He is currently the Board liaison to Burton Valley Elementary School and serves on the following Board Committees:  Curriculum Council, School Transportation/Bus JPA, and Technology. He also serves on the AIM Ad Hoc Committee.


David and wife Stacii moved to Lafayette in 1997 and have twin daughters who attended Springhill Elementary, Stanley Middle School and are now at Acalanes High School

Nancy.jpgNancy Wallace (Term ends December, 2016) Nancy Wallace formally announced her resignation from the Lafayette School District Governing Board effective September 26, 2016.


Nancy was elected to the Governing Board in November, 2012.

Nancy has been an active volunteer in our community for the past 11 years. She served on the Springhill Elementary School Parent Faculty Club from 2007 – 2009—first as Secretary and then as Vice-President of Fundraising. She is the founder of SEED (Special Education Foundation), and served as its president from 2008 – 2012. She co-chaired the 2009 Springhill Parent Party and Auction.


She also served as a member of the Director of Student Services' Parent Advisory Committee for five years. Nancy has been a member of the District Grant Writing Committee, Lafayette Rapport, the LASF (now LPIE) Auction Committee, and a volunteer on various parcel tax campaigns. She is also the Girl Scout school organizer for Springhill Elementary School, and has served as leader in multiple Girl Scout troops at Springhill and Stanley Middle School.


Before leaving her practice at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene and MacRae to help care for her children, Nancy practiced law for eleven years, and also worked in the actuarial field for several years. She received her J.D. from the University of Notre Dame, and her B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Colgate University.


She is currently the Board liaison to Springhill Elementary School and services on the following Board Committees: Negotiations, Policy Review/Revisions, and RAPPORT.  She also serves on the Joint City-School District Traffic & Safety Ad Hoc Committee.


Nancy has lived in Lafayette since 2000. She is married to Robert Ishii, and they have three children.








Suzy Pak (Term ends December, 2018)

Suzy has a background of more than 22 years in the asset management industry.  She is a native Californian and the product of California public schools.  She has a BA in Economics from UC Santa Cruz and an MBA from San Jose State University.


Suzy is an active community volunteer with service on the boards of the Springhill Elementary Parent Faculty Club, the Lafayette Library and Learning Center Foundation, National Charity League-Acalanes Chapter, the Contra Costa Child Abuse Prevention Council, the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center, the Junior League of San Francisco, Lafayette for Education, and Educate Our State.  She served as the Treasurer for the Measure B parcel tax campaign in 2011 and 2014.


Her current Board assignments include Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE), Las Trampas Creek Council PTA Legislative Committee, Communications, and Technology. She is also Board liaison to Lafayette Elementary School.


She and her husband, Mark Gundacker, moved to Lafayette in 2001, where they reside with their two daughters who have been enrolled in the Lafayette School District since kindergarten.
